  • (4/12/2003 10:49:11 AM) Scott: This was the first concert that they didn't pat you down. You could have brought in just about anything you wanted. And the ushers didn't care about people taking pictures at all.

    They played an awesome 2 hour 23 song set. All the songs were classics except about 4 from the new album. You can tell that Joe Elliot is losing it a little bit, especially during Bringin' on the Heartbreak, but they were still awesome.

I got the $90 per night room and the total turned out to be $692 for the week which is not bad. When the rest of you get your rooms let me know and then we'll send all the deposit checks together. Call me at 973-945-0963 when you get your room.
  • (3/12/2003 3:13:50 PM) Scott: I also liked the Granada, but the price is too steep. I just called the Villa Nova again and asked how much rooms were for 2 people. You can get a $65 room that�s really small or an $85 (opposite from pool) / $90 (pool side) room with an efficiency facing the pool. Lisa and I also decided to room alone and want to get the $90 room. That turns out to be $693 for the room instead of $1309 for the Granada. (Make sure to add the 10% tax fee) That $600 difference is a little too much for the same type of hotel. Actually, the Villa Nova even looks better from the picture on the site.

    Anyway, if you want more information on the hotel call them at 302-239-9592. The lady is very nice.

    If this is OK with the rest of you, let me know and let�s make reservations right away.

June 21st to the 28th is good and I have taken those days off. Hotel choice doesn't matter. The Villa Nova looks good but there is a lack of info on there site. However, Ireally enjoyed te Granada last year, and prefer to stay there. Give me a call later.

  • (3/11/2003 4:16:31 PM) Scott: I called a couple of the smaller places and had a little more luck. The Granada has rooms for four people at $170, for efficiency, and $155, for non-efficiency.

    I also called the Villa Nova Resort Motel which looks pretty nice. $130 a night for 4 people with 3 double beds and an efficiency. Check out this link and tell me what you think of it. The Villa Nova turns out to be $250 per person for the whole week which is pretty darn cheap. The lady also said that we're fine as long as we are all over 21. She also said that as long as the place isn't completely packed, she won't care if we park more than one car there per room. The worst case is we may have to park a car on one of the side streets.

The Saturday to Saturday is good because we only miss 5 days of work instead of 6 if we do Thursday to Thursday or something like that. Also, the first 5 nights are off-season which makes it cheaper. I was looking at the Royal Hawaiiann Resort and we can get nice huge rooms for about $35 a night if we have 4 people in a room. Anything after that weekend is in-season rates and the same rooms that went for $140 off-season go up to $240. What does everyone think?

It was so cool to see such a big band in a tiny place like that!!! It was even cooler to see that they sound just as good as they always have!!! Anyway, I here their coming around in December, so we'll see them then.

    About the Concert: David Lee Roth was awesome except that his voice isn't the greatest anymore and his band did not sound like Eddie at all. Sammy Hagar was freakin' amazing. His band kicked ASS and his voice was phenomenal. Between the two of them, we heard just about all the kick-ass Van Halen tunes and Sammy's big hits. I'll never forget this one!!!

    Overview of Concerts this Summer: I'd have to say the best band that I saw this summer was definitely Def Leppard. They sounded just like their CD's. Next would be Sammy Hagar followed by Poison. I'd see these three bands every summer if they kept coming around!!!

    well i see there has been a bit of hostility posted on the board. for ones it does not concern me. For Poison/Cinderella/Winger, I only have 1 left so were probably gonna have to get a couple more for that one.

    I wish I could have had definite answers from everyone who wanted to go to those shows but it didn't turn out that way and I didn't want to get stuck with tickets like I did Aerosmith last year cause people told me they were going and then backed out from it. Anyway, it's not like the shows are gonna sell out or anything.

    It'll be cool to see everyone home again and to start an awesome summer!!!

    So far Curt and I are going to Deep Purple, etc... which leaves 2 available.

    And Lisa, Wilson (friend from work), and I are going to Poison which leaves 1 left for that show.

    If I don't have enough tickets for you then sorry but no one said anything about going or not. You can still get your own if there's not enough.
